Panic Attacks- Sign Symptoms and Preventions

By the word panic attacks we mean to say attacks related mostly to fear. These attacks generally do not last long which means they are for small time period. In this article we will talk about the symptoms related to these attacks and then we will see some ways through which we can stop these attacks.

The first and the most common symbol of these attacks is Shortness of Breath. Most of the people cannot breathe properly during these attacks. As respiration is necessary to live, that’s why if you cannot breath properly you will become panic and eventually you will have a fear of death. During theses panic attacks the other thing which occur very frequently is Muscle Tension. Whenever you have any kind of anxiety disorder you will experience regular muscle stress. Having continued stress will lead you to a situation when you will almost forget what is meant by muscle relaxation.

For getting rid of this nasty situation a stress management scheme has been introduced known as Progressive muscle relaxation (PMR). The thanks for the production of this system goes to Edmund Jacobson who is a surgeon in Chicago. He presented a hypothesis. In this hypothesis he said that nervousness and pressure are the cause of muscle stress and due to muscle stress anxiety increases. On the other hand if a person lives life in relax mood he will have less amount of muscle pressure. The other after affect of panic attacks is Frequent Headaches. 66% of women and 35% to 40% of men suffering from panic attacks have severe headache problems. People suffering from panic attacks have, up to 7 times more, chances to have headache problems like migraine. In a research it has been showed that two out of three persons who are suffering from panic attacks also suffer from headache problems.

Sometimes people who are having panic attacks may also experience some physical signs related with panic attacks and pressure like Gastrointestinal (GI) Symptoms. These symptoms include stomach pain, heartburn, constipation, nausea and vomiting. “Function GI Symptoms” come into act when there are no other medicinal causes for GI. With the help of different researches it has been proved that there is a link between anxiety, depression and functional GI signs. Usually the studies have shown that those people who have one or more GI symptoms have more chances to have panic attacks than those people who don’t shoe and GI signs. The next thing is chest pain. About 40 % of people who are suffering from panic attacks are likely to have chest pain. During this chest pain he will consider that he has a heart problem. But the chest pain related to panic attacks doesn’t have serious impacts on heart. The people who are experiencing this pain from these panic attacks are told by the doctors that there is nothing abnormal with them physically.
